Monterey Motorsports Festival and the Automotoclub Storico Italiano Announce a Collaboration Promoting Made in Italy
The Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) and the Monterey Motorsports Festival (MMF) today announced a collaboration to promote Italian historic motoring to motorsports enthusiasts during Monterey Car Week. As a sector now recognized as an expression of Made in Italy, the cultural significance of Italian historic motoring will now be celebrated at Monterey Car Week, an event that gathers global car collectors and enthusiasts at the well-known California resort. The Monterey Motorsports Festival will therefore be under the patronage of ASI.
Born in 2023, the Monterey Motorsports Festival immediately stood out for its innovative and dynamic approach that is focused on today’s, and tomorrow’s, collectors. Founded by Paolo Manca, an Italian entrepreneur who has been operating in Monterey County for 20 years, the MMF takes place on Saturday, August 17, from 2 to 10 p.m. and will offer the public the best of the two- and four-wheeled motorsports scene.
Paolo Manca, president of the MMF – Monterey Motorsports Festival, elaborates: “Our event is open to all brands, of all nationalities, and it is natural that Italy plays a leading role—precisely because of its historical and current heritage as a protagonist in terms of design and creation of cars and motorcycles that are true works of art.”
Manca designed the MMF specifically to be the first event also open in the evening and expressly aimed at young people, and it is located in an extremely versatile facility (the Monterey Fairgrounds).
“This is ideal for bringing the value of tradition closer to the trends and desires of today’s and tomorrow’s collectors,” he adds.
Alberto Scuro, ASI president, adds: “ASI has among its missions the promotion of historic motorism and Made in Italy also abroad, where there are many fans of our brands and our history. We have identified the MMF – Monterey Motorsports Festival as an event with a great potential to initiate a series of activities promoting initiatives of ASI-federated clubs, including the events of ASI Circuito Tricolore. ASI will lend its support to encourage the presence of prestigious cars and personalities of Italian historic motoring at the MMF, which in turn will become a showcase for Made in Italy historic motoring.”
The collaboration between ASI and MMF was signed at the inauguration of the exhibition “The Sculptors of Speed,” located at the headquarters of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy in Rome. Signing the partnership were Alberto Scuro and Raffaello Porro, director of marketing and communications of the MMF, who comments: “I thank President Scuro for his trust in our ability to lay the groundwork for a winning collaboration that benefits both entities: fans of Italian historic motoring and Made in Italy.”
